MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

 

Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir’s thought leadership runs parallel with his achievement as the Chief Minister of Perak (2008 – 2018) who fostered bottom-up and inclusive policies that prioritized the middle-income group for opportunities in employment and social improvement. Dr. Zambry was frequently invited to share his experience and insights through public and academic lectures. He was the Adjunct Professor at IIUM Malaysia and also the Professor in Practice at Putra Business School, UPM. During his tenure, the State was named “The Most Promising State for International Investment” during the 6th Middle East Business Leaders Awards in Dubai in recognition of the State’s achievements in the commerce and investment sectors in the region.

Dr. Zambry has also been awarded the Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration from the University of East London for his contribution in prospering and transforming the State of Perak. Holding a PhD in Political Thoughts from Temple University with expertise in the fields of political economy, contemporary South East Asian politics and contemporary Malaysian politics, Dr. Zambry is certainly a man who walks his thoughts.

Dr. Zambry was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs on 2 December 2022 and subsequently sworn in as Senator in the Upper House of Parliament on 3 December 2022. He also serves in the UMNO Supreme Council.
