MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE LATEST KILLING OF CIVILIANS IN GAZA

MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS THE LATEST KILLING OF CIVILIANS IN GAZA

Malaysia strongly condemns the attack by Israel’s forces in Gaza which resulted in the deaths of innocent civilians, including children and journalists.

The attack constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, as well as a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement declared by United States President Donald J. Trump as part of his 20-point Peace Plan on 29 September 2025.

Malaysia reiterates that all parties to the conflict are obliged to uphold international law. Attacks that result in the loss of civilian life and impede access to safety and essential services are unacceptable and undermine efforts towards de-escalation, peace, and stability.

Malaysia remains steadfast in its support for the Palestinian people’s inalienable rights, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of a sovereign and independent State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Malaysia reiterates its call for an immediate and sustained cessation of hostilities and for all parties to recommit to a return to meaningful negotiations toward a just and lasting peace.

MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS ISRAEL’S ATTACK ON UNRWA HEADQUARTERS

MALAYSIA STRONGLY CONDEMNS ISRAEL’S ATTACK ON UNRWA HEADQUARTERS

Malaysia condemns in the strongest terms Israel’s incursion into the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and the demolition of its premises in Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem on 20 January 2026.

Israel has a legal obligation under international law to facilitate, without obstruction, humanitarian relief efforts by UN entities, particularly UNRWA, as well as by international organisations and Member States; to protect all humanitarian and medical personnel; and to uphold the privileges, immunities, and inviolability of the UN, its premises, property, and officials, as reaffirmed by the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice dated 22 October 2025.

Malaysia calls on the international community to hold Israel accountable for the continuing serious violation of international law, including the UN Charter, the 1946 UN Convention on the Privileges and Immunities, and relevant UN resolutions. This impunity must end.
