DEMISE OF FORMER PRIME MINISTER OF JAPAN HIS EXCELLENCY SHINZO ABE
DEMISE OF FORMER PRIME MINISTER OF JAPAN HIS EXCELLENCY SHINZO ABE
On behalf of the Government and the people of Malaysia, I would like to express profound condolences to the Government and people of Japan, and the family of the demised former Prime Minister of Japan, H.E. Shinzo Abe.
An iconic leader who will always be remembered for his contributions to the economic development of Japan through “Abenomics”, H.E. Abe served two terms as Prime Minister and became Japan's longest-serving Head of Government.
As Prime Minister, H.E. Abe visited Malaysia three times and played a key role in advancing and diversifying further bilateral relations with Malaysia. He had also contributed significantly to Malaysia’s Look East Policy. Most recently, he represented the Japanese Government as the Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Japan to commemorate the policy’s 40th anniversary in Kuala Lumpur.
H.E. Abe's legacy and contributions will be treasured and continue to live on.
