KERJASAMA INSTITUSI AKADEMIK MAMPU
MEMBINA RANGKAIAN KOLABORATIF ANTARA KERAJAAN

 

Saya dan rakan sejawat dari Indonesia, PYT Retno L.P. Marsudi telah bersama-sama merasmikan pelancaran kerjasama antara Pusat Kajian Ikatan Malaysia – Indonesia (IKMI) Institut Pengajian Malaysia dan Antarabangsa (IKMAS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia dan Program Pengajian Indonesia – Malaysia (IMSP) di Pusat untuk Pengajian Asia Timur, Universitas Prasetiya Mulya Indonesia. Program berkenaan diadakan di Institut Penyelidikan Ekonomi untuk ASEAN dan Asia Timur (ERIA) di Senayan, Jakarta pada 03 September 2023.

Kerjasama kedua-dua universiti itu mencapai kemuncak sebagai hasil daripada lawatan YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Perdana Menteri Malaysia ke Jakarta pada Januari 2023 dan lawatan TYT Joko Widodo, Presiden Indonesia ke Malaysia pada Jun 2023. Semasa lawatan beliau ke Jakarta, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Perdana Menteri Malaysia menyeru Indonesia dan Malaysia untuk terus bekerjasama dalam isu serantau bagi menjamin kepentingan politik dan ekonomi kedua-dua negara.

Saya dan Ibu Retno turut mengulangi bahawa Indonesia dan Malaysia perlu membangun, mengekalkan dan terus memupuk hubungan baik antara kedua-dua buah negara.

Dalam ucapan saya juga menyentuh dan menyeru institusi akademik untuk menggalakkan hubungan baik dan saling menghormati kedua-dua negara seperti yang terkandung dalam Piagam ASEAN serta menyeru sektor swasta untuk bekerjasama dan membangunkan perkongsian strategik dengan institusi akademik melalui aktiviti yang dibiayai kedua-dua pihak melalui penyelidikan kolaboratif dan selanjutnya boleh memberikan khidmat nasihat kepada kerajaan.

Saya dan Ibu Retno juga berkesempatan melawat the new ERIA – Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Centre (E-DISC).
