LAWATAN KERJA KE LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM (13 – 15 MAC 2023)

 

 

 

Mesyuarat Kumpulan Tindakan Menteri Komanwel (CMAG)

 

Saya telah menyertai Mesyuarat Kumpulan Tindakan Menteri Komanwel (CMAG) di Marlborough House, London.

 

CMAG telah ditubuhkan pada 1995 selaku penjaga nilai-nilai asas politik Komanwel. Keahlian CMAG pada ketika ini terdiri daripada Barbados, Belize, Canada, Ghana, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritus, Rwanda dan Samoa. Malaysia telah dilantik sebagai ahli CMAG pada tahun 2018.

 

Mesyuarat tersebut telah membincangkan isu-isu berkepentingan bersama, situasi pelbagai negara-negara anggota Komanwel dan status permohonan kemasukan semula Zimbabwe sebagai anggota Komanwel.

 

Saya telah menekankan bahawa adalah tidak wajar bagi pendekatan ’one size fits all’ digunakan dalam menggalakkan negara-negara menerima pakai prinsip demokrasi, kedaulatan undang-undang dan dalam mempromosikan dan melindungi hak asasi manusia. Malaysia juga bersedia menghulurkan bantuan teknikal kepada negara-negara Komanwel yang memerlukan.
