MAHASISWA MALAYSIA YANG DITAHAN TELAH DIBEBASKAN OLEH PIHAK BERKUASA MESIR

 

Merujuk kenyataan media 18 September 2022 mengenai penahanan seorang mahasiswa Malaysia di Universiti Al-Azhar, Mesir, sukacita saya memaklumkan bahawa mahasiswa tersebut telah dibebaskan oleh pihak berkuasa Mesir pada petang 24 September 2022 (waktu Mesir). Beliau berada dalam keadaan baik dan akan meneruskan pengajian di universiti tersebut.

Kementerian Luar Negeri (KLN) telah bekerjasama rapat dengan Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Arab Mesir melalui Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Kaherah serta Kedutaan Besar Republik Arab Mesir di Kuala Lumpur bagi memastikan kebajikan beliau sentiasa terpelihara. Kerajaan Malaysia juga merakamkan setinggi-tinggi ucapan penghargaan kepada Kerajaan Republik Arab Mesir atas kerjasama erat dalam perkara ini.

Kami di KLN sentiasa prihatin akan keselamatan dan kebajikan rakyat Malaysia di luar negara serta menasihatkan supaya kita semua akan sentiasa peka dan mematuhi undang-undang negara tuan rumah di mana mereka berada.
