MESYUARAT-MESYUARAT YB MENTERI LUAR NEGERI, MESYUARAT MENTERI-MENTERI LUAR NEGERI ASEAN KE-56 12 JULAI 2023 

 

Pertemuan Dua Hala Malaysia-Arab Saudi

● Saya telah mengadakan pertemuan dua hala dengan rakan sejawat saya dari Arab Saudi iaitu Yang Mulia Putera Faisal bin Farhan, Menteri Luar Negeri. Antara perbincangan kami adalah mengenai hubungan kerjasama ASEAN – Majlis Kerjasama Teluk (Gulf Cooperation Council – GCC) selaras dengan peranan kedua-dua negara selaku negara penyelaras bagi ASEAN dan GCC.

● Kami telah membincangkan mengenai Sidang Kemuncak ASEAN – GCC yang akan diadakan pada Oktober 2023 di Riyadh, Arab Saudi yang dilihat akan memperkukuhkan lagi kerjasama strategik kedua-dua organisasi serantau ini.

● Pada tahun ini, beberapa peringkat pertemuan di antara ASEAN dan GCC juga akan diadakan. Ini termasuk Mesyuarat Peringkat Menteri-menteri Luar Negeri ASEAN – GCC di sela-sela Perhimpunan Agung PBB ke-78 (78th United Nations General Assembly – 78th UNGA) pada September 2023.

● Saya juga telah menyatakan penghargaan bagi pihak Kerajaan Malaysia kepada Kerajaan Arab Saudi atas keprihatinan Arab Saudi yang memberi kuota tambahan haji kepada Malaysia. Pada masa sama, penghargaan juga diberikan kepada Arab Saudi atas layanan yang terbaik diberikan kepada Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Yang di-Pertuan Agong ketika mana Baginda dan Permaisuri Agong bersama Tuanku Pemangku Sultan Pahang mengerjakan ibadah haji baru-baru ini.

● Saya juga menyampaikan penghargaan dan tanda terima kasih atas bantuan dan pertolongan yang diberikan Kerajaan Arab Saudi ketika misi mengeluarkan rakyat Malaysia dari krisis yang berlaku di Sudan.

● Pada pertemuan ini juga, Yang Mulia Putera Faisal telah berinteraksi secara langsung melalui talian telefon dengan YAB Perdana Menteri.

● Ini sekaligus menunjukkan komitmen dan hubungan yang rapat antara Malaysia dan Arab Saudi serta menangkis segala tohmahan kepada hubungan kedua-dua negara ini.
