MEETING WITH HONORABLE ANGLU FARRUGIA, SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE PARLIAMENT OF MALTA
Ambassador Hendy Assan paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Anglu Farrugia, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Malta, at the latter's office.
The Hon. Speaker and Ambassador Hendy promptly engaged in discussions regarding Malaysia - Malta bilateral relations. Both agreed that Malaysia and Malta have enjoyed strong and cordial ties since 1975, rooted in shared values such as democracy, the rule of law, and a mutual commitment to multilateralism.
They further acknowledged that while Malaysia and Malta continue to collaborate in various international forums, including the Commonwealth and the United Nations, there remains significant untapped potential to enhance these ties, particularly through trade and economic relations, as well as through parliamentary diplomacy.
