Passport Renewal
 
The passport application procedures at the Embassy of Malaysia ZAGREB  
 
All applicants must submit and collect the documents personally at the Embassy.
 
We will contact you when the approval for a new passport is issued. Please contact us if you have changed your address.
 
To ensure prompt processing please make sure that all supporting documents in Croatian are translated and certified by a Court Licensed Translator, failure to do so will only delay your application. 

 


A. Passport Expiry
 
Please submit the following documents for the purpose of applying for a Malaysian passport. (In two copies each):

1. Malaysia Passport Application Form IM 42 Pin 1/97 (Available at the Embassy or download from link http://www.imi.gov.my/images/borang/Pasport/Borang%20Permohonan%20Pasport.pdf)
2. Photograph against a white background measuring 3.5 x 5 cm
3. Certified copy of the front page of the old passport;
4. Certified copy of the passport page containing visa information and / or residence registration information;
5. Certified copy of Malaysian Identity Card and
6. Confirmation letter from the university (for students) or the employer (for employees or spouses).
 
The new passport application fee at the Embassy of Malaysia, Zagreb is:
 - Children below 12 years old - RM 100.00 (in cash)
 - Senior citizens above 60 years old - RM 100.00 (in cash)

 - Students below 21 years old studiying at foreign universities - RM 100.00 (in cash)

 - Other than above - RM 200.00 (in cash)
 
Normally, a new passport can be obtained within 30 days after the date of submission of the application.
 


B. Damaged Passport
 
Please submit the following documents for the purpose of applying for a Malaysian passport. (in two copies each):

1. Cover letter explaining why the passport is damaged
2. Malaysia Passport Application Form IM 42 Pin 1 / 97 (Available at the Embassy or download from link http://www.imi.gov.my/images/borang/Pasport/Borang%20Permohonan%20Pasport.pdf)

3. Photograph against a white background measuring 3.5 x 5 cm
4. Certified copy of the front page of the old passport;
5. Certified copy of the passport page containing visa information and / or residence registration information;
6. Certified copy of Malaysian Identity Card and
7. Confirmation letter from the university (for students) or the employer (for employees or     spouses)

  


C. Lost Passport
 
All lost passport applications will be thoroughly investigated by the Immigration Department in Malaysia before any consideration can be made for its replacement.  Passport is an important document therefore it must be in the safe custody of the holder at all times.
 
For the record, the production of a new passport due to loss usually takes a longer time as it is in the Immigration Department of Malaysia’s discretion when it will finish investigating the loss.
 
It is important for you to report a lost passport at the nearest police station. Some police stations do have a standard document property lost form but if not, kindly ask for a note or slip with the police station address printed on it and request them to fill in the report number.
 
After obtaining the police report, please submit your passport application at the Embassy along with the following documents and fees (in two copies each):

1. Malaysia Passport Application Form IM 42 Pin 1/97 (Available at the Embassy or download from http://www.imi.gov.my/images/borang/Pasport/Borang%20Permohonan%20Pasport.pdf

2. Photograph on a white background measuring 3.5 x 5 cm
3. Certified copy of the old passport;
4. Certified copy of Malaysian Identity Card;
5. Copy of report done at the Police Station;
6. Letter from the University (for students) or the employer. (for employees or spouses);
7.  Fill the Lost Passport Questionnaire (Available at the Embassy) and
 

D. Application For Emergency Certificate

 

An Emergency Certificate may be issued by the Embassy of Malaysia to Malaysians who lose their passports overseas to enable them to travel back to Malaysia (one way trip).

 

The application for an Emergency Certificate may be submitted to the Embassy of Malaysia in Zagreb by completing the Passport Application form (IM.42 - Pin. 1/97) which is available at the Embassy or can be downloaded from http://www.imi.gov.my/images/Forms/pasport/im42.pdf and to be accompanied by the following documents:

 

1. Photograph on a white background measuring 3.5 x 5 cm 
2. Certified copy of the old passport; 
3. Certified copy of Malaysian Identity Card; 
4. Copy of report done at the Police Station;
5. Letter from the University (for students) or the employer. (for employees or spouses); 
6. Fill the Lost Passport Questionnaire (Available at the Embassy);

7. Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship; and

8. The fee of RM50.00 is payable at the time of application in cash.

 

 

REMINDER
 
i) Documents to be made in two copies each.
ii) All applications will be referred to the Immigration Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur for approval.
iv) Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
v) The Embassy of Malaysia cannot be held responsible for passports/documents lost in mail.
