IDULFITRI CELEBRATION AT THE EMBASSY OF MALAYSIA, 6 JULY 2016
Malaysian Muslims in Jakarta celebrated Idilfitri at the Malaysian Embassy in Kuningan, South Jakarta on 6 July 2016. This is the yearly event that every Malaysian residing in Jakarta looks forward to. Embassy officials and Malaysians working and studying in Jakarta thronged the Embassy for Aidilfitri prayers at 7.30 am, with religious attache Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ariffin acting as the Imam.
The guests were then treated to the delicious Malaysian food such as ketupat, lemang, rendang, satay and kuih raya.
Malaysians of all races, especially medical students at several universities in the city, joined their Muslim friends for the feast. The majority of Malaysian students could not return to Malaysia for the festive season as they were still undergoing clinical training in Jakarta.
The Ambassador will be hosting an open house to celebrate at his residence in 23 July 2016.
