The Visa Section deals with the following services:

 

Application for Short Visit Visa to enter Malaysia

Application for New/Renewal of Malaysian Passport

Application for Emergency Certificate

 

 

 

 

 

APPLICATION FOR VISA TO ENTER MALAYSIA FOR SHORT VISIT (SOCIAL/TOURIST/BUSINESS)

 

 

1.                      Application for Malaysian social/tourist visa will normally be processed in three (3) working days and may be submitted in person or through a registered agent.

 

2.                      The visa application requirements:

 

i.                    Duly completed and signed visa form im.47 (can be download at www.imi.gov.my or http://www.kln.gov.my/web/ind_mumbai/forms.

 

ii.                  Two recent passport sized photographs

 

iii.                Original and photocopied passport with validity more than 6 months.

 

iv.               Original confirmed air ticket and photocopied counterfoil of the same.

 

v.                 Visa fee of Rs750.00 in demand draft in favour of "Consulate General of Malaysia Mumbai"

 

 

 

 

APPLICATION FOR A NEW / RENEWAL OF MALAYSIAN PASSPORT

 

 

1.      Application for a new Malaysian passport may take between one (1) to three (3) months for all complete applications. All incomplete applications will be returned to the sender.

 

 

2.                Please complete the Passport Application form (IM.42 - Pin. 1/97) which is available at the Consulate General of Malaysia or can be downloaded from  http://www.imi.gov.my or http://www.kln.gov.my/web/ind_mumbai/forms. The completed form can be submitted with the following documents either in person or mail to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai:

 

 

i.                    Applicant’s Malaysian Passport and a photocopy of pages 1-7 and pages bearing Indian residency permit/visa.

 

ii.                  Applicant’s original Malaysian Identity card and a photocopy of the front and back. 

 

iii.               Original Malaysian birth certificate (not applicable if you are over 12 years of age) and a photocopy.

 

iv.              Original Malaysian Citizenship certificate if born before 31.08.1957 and a photocopy. 

 

v.                Two (2) recent coloured passport sized photographs with plain light blue background only. Dimensions: 3.5cm X 5cm.

 

vi.               Original Indian Permanent Resident (PR) card (if any) and a photocopy of the front and back.       

 

vii.             Right thumbprint in black ink must be affixed as indicated on the application form (IM.42 - Pin.1/97).

 

viii.           The fee of Rs4,100 is payable at the time of application  in cash or Bank Draft payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA MUMBAI.

 

ix.               A self-addressed prepaid envelope for the return of your documents. The Consulate General of Malaysia will not be liable for any mail that is lost, misplaced or damaged during dispatch. (Non applicable for those who come in person).

 

 

 

APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY CERTIFICATE

  

1.               An Emergency Certificate may be issued by the Consulate General of Malaysia to Malaysians who lose their passports overseas to enable them to travel back to Malaysia (one way trip).

 

2.                The application for an Emergency Certificate may be submitted to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai by completing the Passport Application form (IM.42 - Pin. 1/97) which is available at the Consulate or can be downloaded from  www.imi.gov.my or http://www.kln.gov.my/web/ind_mumbai/forms and to be accompanied by the following documents:

 

i.                    A copy of the police report.

 

ii.                  Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship.

 

iii.                Two (2) recent coloured passport sized photographs with plain light blue background only. Dimensions: 3.5cm X 5cm.

 

iv.               The fee of Rs750 is payable at the time of application  in cash or Bank Draft payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA MUMBAI.
