 REGISTRATION OF MALAYSIANS RESIDING IN WESTERN INDIA

 

All Malaysians residing in the States of Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat are advised to register with the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai. The failure to do so may cause difficulties for the Consulate General to provide assistance or protection in the event of emergencies or may lead to the loss of citizenship under Article 25(2) of the Constitution of Malaysia.

 

The registration form is available at the Consulate or may be downloaded at http://www.kln.gov.my/web/ind_mumbai/forms. The completed form should be e-mailed, faxed or mailed to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai.

 

APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF BIRTH OVERSEAS (WHOSE FATHER IS A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN)

 

1.            A child must be registered within one year of his/her birth. The failure to do so may lead to the loss of Malaysian citizenship to the child. 

 

2.            The father of the child must not possess any nationality other than Malaysian nationality at the time of application. 

 

3.           Processing takes 3 working days for all complete applications. Incomplete applications will not be processed. 

 

4.              Please complete the Birth Registration Application Form (JPN.WN 02). The original form (JPN.WN 02) must be used and can be obtained at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai. The form must be completed in Bahasa Malaysia using BLOCK LETTERS ONLY. The completed form must be accompanied by the following:     

 

i.                    Original local Birth Certificate of child and 2 photocopies. 

 

ii.                  2 recent colour passport-sized photographs of child with plain light blue background only. Dimensions: 3.5cm X 5cm.  

 

iii.             Original passport of parents and 2 photocopies. 

 

iv.             Original Malaysian Identity card (Mycard) of parents and 2 photocopies each of the front and back.   

 

v.             Original Malaysian Birth Certificate of parents and 2 photocopies each. 

 

vi.              Original Malaysian Marriage Certificate and 2 photocopies. 

 

vii.          Original Indian Permanent Resident (PR) card of parents and 2 photocopies each of the front and back, if applicable.

 

viii.    The fee of Rs450 is payable at the time of application  in cash or Bank Draft payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA MUMBAI

 

APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE OVERSEAS

 

            Please complete the Marriage Registration Application form (JPN.KC 06) which is available at the Consulate General of Malaysia and submit with the following documents either in person or mail to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai. 

 

i.              Original local Marriage Certificate and two (2) photocopies. 

 

ii.             Original and one copy of Malaysian Passport bearing lndia’s residency permit or employment visa. 

 

iii.            The fee of Rs300 is payable at the time of application  in cash or Bank Draft payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA MUMBAI.

  

 

ATTESTATION/AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTS  

 

1.                 Documents such as Statutory Declarations, Certificates of Origin, Power of Attorney, School Certificates, Birth Certificates, etc. may requires authentication by the Consulate General of Malaysia for the use in India by Malaysians or to be used in Malaysia by foreign nationals.

 

2.                  Attestation or authentication of documents may be made at the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai by bring the original and photocopies of the documents which have been first attested by the local notary, the Protocol Department of India’s Ministry of External Affairs or by the Protocol Department of India’s State Governments. 

 

APPLICATION FOR LETTER OF GOOD CONDUCT

(POLICE CLEARANCE)

 

1.          The application for a Letter of Good Conduct may be made by Malaysians and foreigners who have stayed in Malaysia for 1 year and beyond. 

 

2.           Processing takes between two (2) to five (4) months for all complete applications. 

 

3.                           Please complete the Letter of Good Conduct Application Form in duplicate (two sets) The form is available at the Consulate or may be downloaded from http://www.kln.gov.my/web/ind_mumbai/forms. The completed forms can be submitted either in person or mail to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai with the following documents: 

 

i.              Two (2) recent coloured passport sized photographs with dimensions of 3.5cm x 5cm.  

 

ii.             The fee of Rs300 is payable at the time of application  in cash or Bank Draft payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA MUMBAI.  

 

iii.            A self-addressed prepaid envelope for the return of your documents. The Consulate General of Malaysia will not be liable for any mail that is lost, misplaced or damaged during dispatch. (Non applicable for those who come in person). 

 

iv.          Additional documents for Malaysians: 

 

Two (2) sets of photocopies of pages 1-7 of your valid Malaysian passport. 

 

Two (2) sets of photocopies of the front and back of your Malaysian Identity card.  

 

v.           Additional documents for Non-Malaysians: 

Two (2) sets of photocopies of all the pages (including blank pages) of the passport you held, during your stay in Malaysia.

 

  

APPLICATION FOR RENUNCIATION OF MALAYSIAN CITIZENSHIP 

 

1)      Please complete two (2) sets of Borang K which is available at the Consulate General of Malaysia and submit it with the following documents either in person or mail to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai: 

 

i.                    Applicant’s  Malaysian Passport and a photocopy of pages 1-7. 

 

ii.                  Original Malaysian Identity card and a photocopy of the front and back. 

 

iii.                Original Malaysian birth certificate and a photocopy. 

 

iv.               Your original Malaysian Citizenship certificate if born before  31.08.1957) and a photocopy. 

 

v.                 Two (2) recent colored passport sized photographs with plain light blue background only. Dimensions: 3.5cm X 5cm. 

 

vi.               The certified true copy of your Indian passport. 

 

vii.             Right and left thumbprints in black ink must be affixed as indicated on Borang K. 

 

viii.           The fee of Rs150 is payable at the time of application  in cash or Bank Draft payable to the CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA MUMBAI.  

 

ix.               A self-addressed prepaid envelope for the return of your documents (applicable only if you want them mailed). The Consulate General of Malaysia will not be liable for any mail that is lost, misplaced or damaged during dispatch (Non applicable for those who come in person).
