MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND INDUSTRY IN MUMBAI FOR TRADE AND INVESTMENT MISSION

Minister Of International Trade and Industry, Y.B. Dato’ Mustapa Mohamed, accompanied by his  wife and more than 30 members of official and business delegation visited Mumbai from 28 -30 October  2009 for the first leg of a Trade and Investment Mission to India.

YB Minister and the delegation members were received at Chattrapathi Shivaji International Airport Mumbai by the Malaysian High Commissioner for India, H.E. Dato Tan Seng Sung, the Consul General Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah and his wife Madam Zuhaila Abd Latif.

The Minister’s programme in Mumbai includes meetings with Malaysian business representatives based in western India and with Indian Captains of industries based in Mumbai. YB Minister paid a courtesy call on Hon. Kamal Nath, Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India. He also attended a briefing by SCOMI International Pvt Ltd, which is involved in India’s first monorail project in Mumbai. He also witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the SCOMI and a UK based company, Artevea Digital Ltd. 

A separate arrangement was made for the wife of Y.B. Minister, YBhg.  Datin Khamarzan Ahmad Meah. She was welcomed by the Chairman and members of PERWAKILAN Mumbai in a “ramah mesra” program. PERWAKILAN Mumbai also hosted luncheon at the on-going Malaysian Food Festival at Trident Hotel. YBhg. Datin Khamarzan was also taken to a sightseeing trip around the Mumbai city.

Y.B. Minister and the delegation left Mumbai for the second leg of the Trade and Investment Mission in Bangalore early morning of 30th October 2009.
