22 September 2025 — The High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi hosted a reception to commemorate the 68th National Day of Malaysia. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Hon'ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Law & Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal.
The celebration brought together a distinguished gathering of guests, including representatives from Indian federal ministries, the diplomatic corps, international organisations, Friends of Malaysia in New Delhi, and members of the Malaysian diaspora.
The evening commenced with the national anthems of Malaysia and India, setting a respectful and celebratory tone. This was followed by remarks from H.E. Dato’ Muzafar Shah Mustafa, High Commissioner of Malaysia to India, and the Chief Guest, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal. Both speakers highlighted the deep-rooted bilateral relations between Malaysia and India, and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing positive initiatives, diplomatic cooperation, and cultural exchange.
The ceremony underscored the importance of strengthening diplomatic ties, fostering regional development, and enhancing global peace and prosperity. It was a celebration not only of Malaysia’s national pride, but also of the enduring friendship and shared values between the two nations.
Guests were treated to vibrant cultural performances, including traditional Malaysian music and dance by the Sabah Tourism Board Cultural Troupe, adding colour and rhythm to the evening.
One of the most anticipated highlights of the night was the Malaysian culinary showcase, featuring authentic delicacies such as chicken satay, steamed glutinous rice with beef rendang, ayam masak merah, curry puffs, nona manis, and pandan-flavoured cake. These were lovingly prepared by the members of PERWAKILAN (Ladies Association of the Embassy), offering guests a taste of Malaysia’s rich and diverse food heritage.
The High Commission extends its heartfelt thanks to all who joined in making the occasion memorable. The evening stood as a testament to Malaysia-India friendship, and a celebration of shared aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous future.
