OTHER CONSULAR SERVICES AT EMBASSY OF MALAYSIA, IRELAND
 
 
A.        LETTER OF GOOD CONDUCT (FROM ROYAL MALAYSIA POLICE)
 
1)       Please be advised that all applicant need to come to the Embassy personally to
applying for Letter of Good Conduct. You may complete the application form in
advance by downloading it from www.kln.gov.my (Please complete the form in 2 copies).
 
2)       Fee for each application is Euro 6.00 (to be paid cash).
 
3)       Supporting documents to be submitted with your application are as follows:

B.        NOTARIAL FUNCTIONS

C.        ARREST/DETENTION BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES
 
1)       Relative/family/acquaintance make a written report about the arrested/detained person at the address, telephone number and e-mail in the main page of this website.
 
2)       Among the information required for the report are as follows :
·         Full name of the arrested/detained person
·         Date of Birth
·         Passport and Identification Card number
·         Date and place of arrest/detained
·         Telephone number of place of arrest/detained
·         Cause of arrest/detention
 
-         The Malaysian Mission will investigate the case. The family will be notified of result of the investigation. If the family requires legal assistance or need to visit the arrested/detained person, the application has to be made through the lawyer. All cost incurred will be borned by the family. 
 
-         After completion of sentence (if found guilty), the person will be deported back to Malaysia. In some countries, cost of deportation will be borned by the country concerned. In this case, the family need to bear the cost where a deposit in the required amount would have to be made to the Malaysian Mission (A receipt will be issued). The family will be informed of the details of arrival and the family will have to wait to receive the person at the airport or other entry points in Malaysia.

D.        LOST OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS/PASSPORT ABROAD
 
1)       Report the loss at the nearest Police Station.
 
2)       Report the loss at the nearest Malaysian Mission. Address, telephone number and e-mail is available in the main page of this website.
 
3)        Documents required to be submitted are as follows :
·         A copy of the police report 
·         Other documents that can be used as proof of citizenship
 
An Emergency Certificate will be issued by the Mission which would enable the person to travel home to Malaysia (one way trip).

E.        REPORT OF MISSING PERSONS
 
1)       Relative/family/acquaintance to call or e-mail the Embassy regarding the missing person. Among the information required for the report are as follows :
 
·         Complete full name of missing person 
·         Place and date of birth
·         Details of the Malaysian Passport
·         Identification Card number
·         Date departed from Malaysia
·         Date of arrival in Ireland
·         Complete address and telephone number at the particular (if available) 
·         Last known address of the place of work (if available)
·         Name, address and contact number of family to be contacted in Malaysia
·         Name, address and contact number of the person making the report / government agency involved 
·         Reason for going abroad 
 
Note:
 
i)        The Malaysian Embassy will investigate the case and inform the family of the results of the investigation. If found, the family will have to bear the cost of bringing the person home (flight ticket & other costs incurred).
 
ii)        Family has to deposit money at the Consular Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Malaysia. The Embassy will give cash to the person and a receipt will be issued. Details of arrival in Malaysia would be conveyed to the family and the family will have to wait to receive the person at the airport or other entry points in Malaysia.

F.         REGISTRATION OF DEATH
 
1)       The death must first be reported at the nearest Police Station. To register death at the
Embassy, the copy of the police report is required. (Address of the Embassy is available in the main page of this website)
 
2)       Other documents required for the registration are as follows :
 
-         Original Passport of the deceased
-         Original Identification Card / Birth Certificate of the deceased
-         Copy of the Death Certificate
-         Copy of the Embalming Certificate

G.        REPATRIATION OF REMAINS
 
1)        Relative/ next of kin to decide body to be buried /cremated or send to Malaysia
2)        Information and documents required are as follows :
 
·         Original Passport of the deceased
·         Original Identification Card / Birth Certificate of the deceased
·         Copy of the Death Certificate
·         Copy of the Embalming Certificate (Issued by the Funeral Director Company)
·         Passport of a member of family accompanying the deceased
·         Flight details
·         Laisssez Passer (Embassy will issue Laissez-Passer. Relative/next of kin of the deceased will have to collect the Laissez Passer and send to the Undertaker).

H.        BURIAL IN IRELAND
 
MUSLIM
 
1)       Relative / Next of kin to contact the nearest mosque and Clonkeagh Mosque Phone:        
          01 208 0000 for mandi and kafan
 
2)       Relative / Next of kin to get assistance from mosque to contact local city council for burial
          plot booking 24 hours after death. All cost incurred will have to be borne by the  
          relative /next of kin
 
3)       The Consular Division will submit the following documents to the relative / next of kin :
·         Acknowledgment letter from the respective Mission
·         Certificate of health
·         Certificate of Death
·         Certificate of Burial
·         Death Report
·         Copy of Passport / Identification Card (original document will be submitted
directly to the respective departments in Malaysia).

I.         REGISTRATION OF ABSENT VOTERS
 
1)       Registration of voters for Malaysians abroad is divided into 2 categories:
·         Postal Voters / Absent Voters
·         Normal Voters
 
2)       Postal Voters / Absent Voters consists of :
          i)       Armed Forces who are in service 
ii)       Spouses to (i)
iii)      Government personnel (Federal Government, States Service or Local Authorities)
         who are in service abroad
         iv)      Spouses to (iii)
v)      Individuals studying full time in Universities, Technical Colleges, Training Institutions
         or other bodies abroad (only if they are sponsored by the Government)
         vi)      Spouses to (v).
 
 3)      Normal Voters
          Malaysians Civil Servants and Students
 
4)       Malaysian Embassy will make the announcement for the registration and checking of the voting list. Registration can be made at the nearest Malaysian Mission office by filling in a form provided. Address, telephone number and e-mail is available in the main page of this website.
 
5)       Among documents required for the registration are :
·         Identification document that confirms the applicant's citizenship
·         Identification Card 
·         Passport 
·         3 passport size photograph
 
6)       For the election, normal voters need to return to Malaysia to cast their votes based on the area they have registered in. For postal voters, castings of votes are made by post.
