‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) 2025’
Ms Emelia Tay, Agriculture Attache and Alternate Permanent Representative to the FAO, delivered a statement on 20 October on the ‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) 2025’ report. With the SOFI 2025 report focused on addressing high food price inflation, the statement highlighted Malaysia’s efforts to dampen inflationary pressures and strengthen access to affordable, nutritious food. These efforts include food affordability measures, subsidies, and financing for production, among other efforts.
The statement was delivered during the 53rd Session of the Committee on World Food Security, which takes place from 20-24 October 2025.
