A group of Malaysian artisan shoe designers visited the Embassy on 27 October.
The designers, students at the the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEX), were brought over by Mr. Dodi Mohammad of Alta Moda and Tradisi Busana PR, and had just completed a one-week industrial immersive programme with the Istituti Tecnici Superiori (ITS) Smart Academy in Marche.
The designers showcased their work and shared their experiences in the programme with the Embassy. A ceremony was also held whereby Mr. Rudy Cesaretti, Course Coordinator from the Academy, presented certificates of completion to the designers.
The programme in Marche provides practical training in Italian shoemaking, opportunities to work with leading industry experts, and meaningful international exposure. As the concluding phase of their studies at CENTEX, the programme prepares the designers to launch their own shoe brands while upholding sustainability and ethical values in the industry. The programme also reflects the growing Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) cooperation between Malaysia and Italy.
