Handing over of ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR)
Malaysia completed its Chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) for the period of January-June 2024, and Ambassador Zahid handed over the responsibility of Chair to Mr. Eko Himawan, CDA of the Embassy of Indonesia, at the 77th ACR Ambassadors Meeting on 16 July 2024.
Throughout Malaysia’s Chairmanship, a number of impactful activities were organised to enhance the ASEAN-Italy Development Partnership, including a meeting of the ACR with H.E. Maria Tripodi, the Italian Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; the 3rd Torino ASEAN Business Day; and engagement sessions with the Italian MFA, the Italian Institute for Asia (ISIA), the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), Torino Chamber of Commerce, Torino World Affairs Institute and Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP).
