On 20 June 2026, His Excellency Dato’ Zahid Rastam concluded his mission as Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Italy, the Republic of San Marino and the Republic of Kosovo; and as Permanent Representative to the FAO and the UN Specialised Agencies in Italy.
The Embassy of Malaysia in Rome extends its appreciation to Dato’ Zahid for his efforts and dedication in advancing Malaysia’s interests and strengthening relations with Italy, San Marino and Kosovo, and to advance the fulfillment of the mandates of the UN Rome-based agencies. His time in office was marked by a number of significant milestones and achievements that further enhanced Malaysia’s engagement and visibility in the region.
Throughout his time with the Embassy, his leadership and engagement left a lasting impression on the team and contributed to a strong sense of shared purpose within the Mission.
The Embassy records its appreciation for Dato’ Zahid’s guidance and contributions and wishes him and his family continued fulfilment in the next chapter of their journey.
