Meeting between Special Select Committee on Environment, Science and Plantation with H.E. Keiji Furuya, Chairman of JMA
15 April 2025 – The Special Select Committee on Environment, Science, and Plantation of the House of Representatives, Parliament of Malaysia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Keiji Furuya, Chairman of the Japan-Malaysia Association and Chairman of the Japan-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Association. Also present was Ms. Nora Azlinda Jaapar, Counsellor and Head of Chancery of the Embassy of Malaysia in Japan.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing Malaysia-Japan cooperation, particularly in the areas of environmental sustainability, scientific advancement, and sustainable plantation practices. The discussion also emphasised the importance of inter-parliamentary collaboration in strengthening bilateral relations and supporting evidence-based policy making in both countries.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing confidence in the enduring friendship between Malaysia and Japan and a shared commitment to pursue deeper cooperation through dynamic and forward-looking parliamentary engagement.
