The Government of Malaysia on 7 June 2020 announced the end of the Conditional Movement Order Control (CMCO) on 9 June 2020. 


Malaysia has now entered the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase that is effective from 10 June to 31 August 2020.


During this period, all travelers to Malaysia are advised to take note of the following:

  1. Returning Malaysians and non-citizens are no longer required to obtain/sign the LoU & Journey Permission from any Malaysian Missions.
  2. The entry of all foreign visitors into Malaysia will be prohibited, with the exception of Permanent Residents, Diplomats,  and Spouse of Malaysians with valid spouse visa (Long Term Pass). 
  3. MM2H pass holders, Expatriates and other non-citizens who wish to enter Malaysia are required to have the following approvals before planning your travel to Malaysia: 

*MM2H pass holders are required to check with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia (MOTAC - MM2H centre) for entry approval.


*Expatriates/Skilled workers/Knowledge workers/Dependents are required to adhere to the guidelines set by the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) of the Immigration Department of Malaysia before planning your travel



  1. All travelers will be subjected to health screening upon arrival. Those who are tested positive for COVID-19 will be referred to the nearest hospital while those who are negative will undergo 14 days of quarantine at their homes. Refer to these guidelines for more information:
