In conjunction with the working visit undertaken by YBhg Dato’ Ts. V Valluvan Velloo, Deputy Secretary-General (Macro) of the Ministry of Economy of Malaysia to Seoul from 10 – 13 June 2025, a special bilateral meeting was held with the Director of the Energy Technology Division of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) to discuss some issues related to carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) between the two nations. The meeting agreed for both parties to continue with the negotiation owing to the complexities and technical nature of the subject matter where due regards must be given to national laws and international obligations. Also present at the meeting were the Deputy Chief of Mission and MIDA Seoul.
