1Malaysia Gathering and Chinese New Year Open House, 10 February 2012

 

 

His Excellency Ambassador Ilango Karuppannan hosted ‘Perjumpaan 1Malaysia’ for the first quarter of the year on Friday 10 February 2012 at the Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut. The main purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity for Malaysians residing in Lebanon interact with the Embassy and each other. The event was also an occasion to update the Embassy’s record of Malaysians residing in Lebanon.

 

In conjunction with this event, the Ambassador also hosted a Chinese New Year Open House at the Embassy. The event gathered together 50 Malaysians including several Malaysian troops serving in the UNIFIL. In his remarks, the Ambassador expressed gratitude to the attendees for their presence and hoped that the event could strengthen the camaraderie among the Malaysians. He also touched on the latest political and security situation in Lebanon and in the region. All the attendees were served with various Malaysian as well as local dishes and delicacies.
