Ambassador‘s Visit to Deir Amar Power Plant, 31 May 2012

 

On Thursday 31 May 2012, H.E. Ambassador Ilango Karuppannan visited the Deir Amar power plant in Tripoli, north of Lebanon. Deir Amar is one of two power plants which currently being operated and maintained by YTL Power Services.

 

Ambassador visited the plant to see first hand the major overhaul work for a Life Time Extension and upgrading of Gas Turbine 1 which currently being undertaken in the plant. During the visit, Ambassador toured several areas in the plant to see the overall condition of the gas and steam turbines, generator rewinding and transformer. Ambassador also visited the upgrade control center of the plant. The overhaul work is a significant milestone in YTL’s operation of the power plant as it is supposed to result in higher output and greater energy and cost efficiency.

 

In his remarks, the Ambassador expressed hope to see a continuous cooperation between both sides to ensure a successful partnership. The General Manager of YTL and a representative from EDL expressed their appreciation to Ambassador for his contributions.
