COURTESY CALL ON H.E. MAURICE SLEEM, LEBANESE MINISTER OF DEFENCE
Ambassador Azri Mat Yacob met with H.E. Maurice Sleem, the Lebanese Minister of Defence on 11 February 2022. The meeting reaffirms the friendly bilateral relations between Malaysia and Lebanon. Aside from discussing the current situation in both countries, Ambassador Azri and HE Maurice Sleem also indicate their interest in further strengthening and venturing into new cooperation especially on defence-related matters. Currently, the Malaysian Battalion (Malbatt) has a large presence as a peacekeeper in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
