Courtesy Call with Army Field Commander at the Embassy, 9 July 2012

 

On 9 July 2012 His Excellency Ambassador ILANGO KARUPPANNAN received a courtesy call from Lieutenant General Dato’ Zulkiple Hj. Kassim, Army Field Commander (Panglima Medan Tentera Darat) at the Embassy in Beirut.

 

Dato’ Zulkiple Hj. Kassim was accompanied by Col. Badrul Hisham Commander of Malaysian Battalion 4 (MALBATT 4) and Lt. Col. Hashim Mat Commander of Malaysian Contingent 7 (MALCOY EAST 7) as well as delegation from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF). The delegation is currently in Beirut in conjunction with the transfer of authority from MALCOY EAST 7 to MALCOY EAST 8. 

 

During the call, H.E. Ambassador briefed the Army Field Commander about the overall state of bilateral relations between Malaysia and Lebanon. Ambassador also touched on the political and security situation in the country particularly in the area of operation in the south.
