ENGAGEMENT WITH MALAYSIAN NGO TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO LEBANON, 11 FEBRUARY 2025
On 11 February 2025, Mrs Nik Marina Datuk Hussin, Mission Director & Chairlady of Karisma Humanitarian Outreach Mission (KHOM), along with her team and local partners from Takaful Lebanon, met with Ambassador Azri at the Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut. The meeting focused on their ongoing humanitarian initiatives in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan.
2. Mrs Nik Marina KHOM shared that the organisation works closely with local partners such as Takaful for Child Welfare and Amalia Association to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need. KHOM’s recent humanitarian efforts also extend to Syria, where they collaborate with registered organisations to distribute aid efficiently.
3. Ambassador Azri shared with KHOM that Malaysia contributed RM1.5 million to Lebanon in November 2024, with a focus on the health sector for humanitarian aid. He added that the Malaysian Embassy facilitates and supports humanitarian efforts that align with international humanitarian principles, ensuring that aid reaches affected communities effectively.
