IFTAR WITH THE PALESTINIAN CHILDREN AT THE EMBASSY, 7 AUGUST 2012
In conjunction with the Holy Month of Ramadan, His Excellency Ambassador ILANGO KARUPPANNAN and spouse and the Home Based Staff of the Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut hosted an Iftar for young Palestinian children from the Bourj al-Barajneh and Sabra and Shatila camps.
The Iftar was held at the Malaysian Embassy in Beirut on 7th August 2012 in collaboration with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). The Iftar was part of Embassy’s efforts to foster closer relationship with the Palestinian community in Lebanon. The Iftar was also attended by Malaysians residing in Lebanon as well as Malaysian peacekeepers serving in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
In his remarks the Ambassador said that Malaysia has always been a strong supporter of the Palestinian cause. He added that the Iftar was a small token of our continued support. The Ambassador also presented contribution in kind and cash to the Palestinian children.
