TRANSFER OF AUTHORITY OF THE MALAYSIAN BATTALION (MALBATT)
Mr Johan Arief Jaafar, Chargé d'affaires ad interim, Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut, Lebanon, attended the Transfer of Authority Ceremony of MALBATT 850-12 at UNP 2-1, Marakah Camp on 15 November 2025.
The programme included a ceremonial parade, official remarks and the handover of responsibilities. Outgoing Commander Kolonel Johan Effendi Mohd Shalleh passed command to Kolonel Mohd Rizwan Abdullah, marking the start of MALBATT 850-13’s tenure for the 2025–2026 mission cycle.
The presence of the UNIFIL Sector West Commander and Lieutenant General Dato’ Zahani bin Haji Zainal Abidin RMAF, Joint Force Commander Malaysia, underscored the significance of the occasion.
Our appreciation is extended to the outgoing MALBATT 850-12 command team for their dedicated service. Congratulations to the incoming MALBATT 850-13 leadership as they begin their mandate.
