Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Lebanon in 1965, the state of bilateral relations between the two countries has always been warm and cordial. Bilateral relations and cooperation between Malaysia and Lebanon have gained momentum since the opening of resident embassies in the respective capital. The Embassy of Malaysia in Beirut, Lebanon headed by an Ambassador was established on 19 September 2005 following a Cabinet decision on 1 September 2004 to reciprocate the opening of Lebanese Embassy in July 2004.
