Salam Sejahtera and Ayubowan,

The Malay world is always full of great values of culture richness, explosive delicacies, soft and polite language and vibrant lifestyle. This make it an outstanding civilization that has bound them since many hundred years ago.

It is the distinct culture that bind the Malay world together, regardless the places the community live or exist. The Malay Community in Sri Lanka is the shining image of the Malay world in general. Their preserved lifestyle and authentic culture help bringing the Community into the centre stage of the modern life in terms of respect, honour and success.

Pesta Melayu is certainly intended to showcase the Malay culture and lifestyle in the modern environment. I am exceptionally happy that Pesta Melayu is organized not only to celebrate the Malay culture but also to help others to explore and taste of the Malay lifestyle in Sri Lanka. I am sure Pesta Melayu will bring a Malay-styled festive environment to Sri Lanka and to the whole world. It is the place where we can promote this vibrant culture and to let others to experience the best of the Malay community’s specialties.

On behalf of the Malay Communities in Malaysia and Nusantara, I wish for the huge success of Pesta Melayu and I congratulate the Sri Lankan Malay Association for making big efforts to organize such a remarkable event.

Salam hormat.
