BIRTH REGISTRATION
MALAYSIAN PARENTS
- Application for a child before 12 months from date of birth. For this type of application, The High Commission of Malaysia can process on the same day provided that all documentation are completed. Please click here for updated checklist
- Application for a child after 12 months from date of birth (Late registration). For this type of application, The High Commission of Malaysia would collect and send all completed original documents to National Registration Department (JPN) through diplomatic bag. FOREIGN FATHER
- Application for a child before 12 months from date of birth. For this type of application, The High Commission of Malaysia would collect and send all completed original documents to National Registration Department (JPN) through diplomatic bag. This process can lead up to several months. Please click here for updated checklist.
- Application for a child after 12 months from date of birth (Late registration). The High Commission of Malaysia CANNOT process this type of application. Please contact National Registration Department (JPN) directly.
SINGLE MOTHER
- Provided that there is no (blank section) of 'father' and 'other parent' on the child's New Zealand Birth Certificate, then the process is the same as Malaysian Parents.
- Malaysia does not recognise same sex marriage.
