AL-FATIHAH - DEMISE OF TUN ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI
The High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad is deeply saddened by the passing of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the 5th Prime Minister of Malaysia, on 14 April 2025.
Fondly known as Pak Lah, Tun Abdullah was a statesman of humility, integrity, and wisdom. His leadership was marked by a strong emphasis on good governance, anti-corruption, interfaith dialogue, and civilisational Islam (Islam Hadhari), leaving a lasting impact on the nation’s political and social landscape. The passing of Tun Abdullah is a profound loss to the nation, and his contributions will always be remembered by all Malaysians.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Tun Abdullah during this time of mourning. May in this difficult time, the bereaved families be given strength and solace to overcome their sorrow.
