On 23 May 2025, Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus, Deputy Head of Mission, paid a visit to the PTV News Centre Islamabad. During his visit, he met with senior officials of PTV World, including the Deputy Controller News Programming and the Executive Producer.

The meeting encompassed an engaging discussion on the pivotal role of media in contemporary society, with a special focus on the responsibilities of media and social media in times of conflict and war. The challenges posed by fake news, especially during sensitive geopolitical situations such as the Pakistan-India tensions, were also deliberated upon. Mr. Syafik underscored the media’s critical responsibility to inform the public accurately, hold the powerful accountable, and uphold journalistic ethics and integrity, particularly in times of crisis.

Mr. Jamshaid Sultan briefed Mr. Syafik on recent initiatives undertaken by the PTV management to enhance its broadcasting capabilities and viewership. He highlighted the launch of Digital Television Transmission, a project spearheaded by Executive Director Daniyal Gillani under the leadership of the Managing Director of PTV.

Both parties expressed a mutual interest in exploring opportunities for professional collaboration, training, and the exchange of media expertise to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the media sector.

Concluding the visit, Mr. Syafik toured the Technical Area of the PTV Centre, gaining insights into the infrastructure and technological advancements supporting national broadcasting operations.
