DIPLOMATIC LECTURE AT NATIONAL MANAGEMENT COLLEGE (MNC), LAHORE

On 26 September 2025, His Excellency Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, delivered his second address at the National Management College (MNC), Lahore. The visit built on his earlier engagement in January 2024 and reflected Malaysia’s strong commitment to share experiences and deepen dialogue with Pakistan’s public administration leaders. The session was attended by senior Government of Pakistan officials, including those serving in the fields of foreign affairs, interior, domestic administration, and national security.

In his address, Ambassador Azhar highlighted Malaysia’s priorities as ASEAN Chair in 2025, emphasizing the importance of regional integration, digital transformation, and connectivity. He noted that Malaysia is ready to serve as a bridge between Pakistan and ASEAN, encouraging Pakistan to explore new avenues for trade and cooperation with the region’s 670 million-strong market.

Ambassador Azhar also provided an overview of Malaysia’s development policies, stressing the importance of maintaining steady policies regardless of changes in government, with clear short, medium, and long-term planning. He introduced the concept of Malaysia MADANI, the current national framework focusing on sustainability, prosperity, innovation, respect, trust, and compassion. He also underlined Malaysia’s key economic priorities, including the expansion of the palm oil trade, leadership in the halal industry, and advancement in semiconductor and high-tech sectors, among others.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Azhar underscored Malaysia’s preparations for Visit Malaysia 2026, inviting Pakistan’s tourism stakeholders to collaborate in developing joint promotional activities, travel packages, and cultural exchange initiatives.

Touching on governance, Ambassador Azhar shared Malaysia’s efforts in the fight against corruption, civil service reforms, and open government policies, noting that transparency and accountability are essential foundations for long-term economic growth and social progress.
