COURTESY CALL ON THE FOREIGN SECRETARY OF PAKISTAN
On 30 May 2025, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Azhar Mazlan, paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, H.E. Ambassador Amna Baloch, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ongoing preparations for the upcoming official visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, H.E. Shehbaz Sharif, to Malaysia. The discussion covered key deliverables, as well as substantive and protocol arrangements necessary to ensure the success of the visit.
The two sides also exchanged views on international developments, particularly the issue of Palestine. They reaffirmed the shared position of both Malaysia and Pakistan in strongly supporting the Palestinian cause. In light of the upcoming High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution to be held in New York, both countries reiterated their continued advocacy for the rights of the Palestinian people and their commitment to press for a just and lasting solution through sustained international pressure.
On the matter of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), both sides reiterated their position that the forum should remain strictly technical in nature and free from any political or bilateral influence. Malaysia reaffirmed its support for a fair and objective FATF process.
The meeting reflected the ongoing commitment of both nations to deepen cooperation and dialogue on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.
