On 1 December 2025, the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad participated in the Global Destinations Expo held at the Marriott Hotel, Islamabad. The High Commission, led by the Locally Recruited Staff, together with Mr. Mohd Syafik Firdaus bin Hasbullah, Counsellor, and Mr. Muhammad Zulasri bin Rosdi, First Secretary, represented Malaysia at the Expo. The event was organised by Discover Pakistan TV in collaboration with the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). It served as a dedicated platform to promote international destinations, strengthen tourism diplomacy, and connect foreign missions with Pakistan’s tourism industry. Mr. Sardar Yasir Ilyas, National Coordinator/Advisor on Tourism to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Expo drew international participation, with diplomatic missions, national tourism boards, private-sector tour operators, and provincial tourism authorities showcasing their destinations and services. Representatives from foreign missions, including Azerbaijan, Brunei Darussalam, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, highlighted their cultural and travel offerings, reflecting the growing interest in strengthening tourism linkages with Pakistan. At the conclusion of the event, Mr. Sardar Yasir Ilyas presented souvenirs to the participating organisations.
