On 9 July 2026, H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Mohammad Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, received a farewell courtesy call from Captain Ir. Ts. Abd Razak bin Ahmad of the Royal Malaysian Navy, the Malaysian participant in the National Security and War Course (NSWC) 2025/2026 at the National Defence University (NDU). The courtesy call marked the successful completion of his participation in the programme, which was conducted from 12 August 2025 to 13 July 2026.

During the meeting, Captain Abd Razak briefed the High Commissioner on his experience throughout the course, highlighting its focus on strategic leadership, national security, defence management, and contemporary regional and global security issues. He also shared insights gained through academic discussions, policy analyses, and engagements with security experts and participants from various institutions.

The High Commissioner congratulated Captain Abd Razak on successfully completing the prestigious programme and commended his commitment to professional development and lifelong learning. Both parties also exchanged views on the evolving security landscape in South Asia, the importance of regional cooperation in addressing shared security challenges, and the role of professional military education in strengthening defence capabilities.

The meeting further underscored the importance of continued engagement between Malaysian diplomatic missions and members of the Malaysian Armed Forces undertaking overseas professional development programmes. Such interactions contribute to strengthening institutional linkages, fostering the exchange of perspectives, and supporting Malaysia's broader diplomatic and strategic objectives.
