The 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar 2024 (12th IDEAS 2024) was held in Karachi from 19-22 November 2024. The event was organized by the Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO), Ministry of Defence Production of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The event is to demonstrate a public-private partnership model with participation of international companies.
Malaysia’s presence at IDEAS 2024 was marked by the participation of a 12-member delegation led by General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohamad bin Ab Rahman, Chief of Defence Force of Malaysia. Including in the delegation were two officers from the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia also attended the exhibition led by Dr Mohd Bahkari Ismail, Deputy Secretary General (Management). The delegation was accompanied by the Consul General, Mr Herman Hardynata Ahmad.
The Consul General facilitated meetings between Malaysian Ministry of Defence officials and Pakistani companies involved in the defence industry. These engagements aimed to identify potential participants for Malaysia’s own defence exhibitions and explore opportunities for collaboration.
