Courtesy Call on Chief Minister of Sindh, Pakistan, 13 July 2018
Mr. Khairul Nazran Abd. Rahman, Consul-General of Malaysia in Karachi paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Mr. Fazal-Ur-Rehman, Chief Minister of Sindh on 13 July 2018. Mr. Nazrul Firzadh Yunus, Vice Consul, Consulate-General of Malaysia was also present.
The Consul-General apprised the Chief Minister that Malaysia and Pakistan enjoy warm and friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1957. Malaysia’s presence in Karachi comes with high commitment to further promote bilateral relations between Malaysia and Sindh Province. Bilateral cooperation between the two countries, in general is not only confined to political and economic spheres but also on other areas such as education, tourism, defence and technical assistance. The Consul-General expressed the hope that Sindh would continue to take advantage of Malaysia’s vibrant economy to invest and promote greater business linkages between their private sectors.
Echoing similar sentiment, the Chief Minister convinced that there is a strong potential for further development and expansion of bilateral economic cooperation and partnership between Malaysia and Sindh Province. The Chief Minister assured the Consul-General that the Sindh Government would play significant role and render its assistance for Malaysia to further participate in the local economic activities. On tourism, Malaysia is a no stranger to the people of Pakistan and the large number of Pakistani nationals visiting Malaysia every year speaks volume for the enhanced ties in the tourism sector between the two countries.
