HISTORY OF THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF MALAYSIA IN DAVAO CITY
On 04 December 1995, Consul General Salman Ahmad together with Vice Consul Mohd. Khalil Mustaffa first arrived in Manila, Philippines and proceeded to Davao City on 6 December 1995. The first chancery was temporarily operating in a leased space Suite 1 and 2 of the Apo View Hotel located at J. Camus Street, Davao City on 11 December 1995. The hotel is located in downtown area and rates were quite reasonable. It was the temporary location for about six months as it was very hard to look for suitable office to be rented as a permanent office.
2. Not so long after, the office of the Consulate General has been moved to a 416 square-meter office space on the third of a four storey commercial building located at A. Bonifacio Street, Davao City (just a short distance away from the previous office) on 01 June 1996 up to the present. The office is equipped with conference room, library, lobby, prayer room, pantry, three (3) restrooms and respective offices of the Home Based Staff and the building has parking spaces and a 24 hour security service.

There were already nine (9) Consul Generals who have headed the Consulate General since it was established in 1995 namely HE Dato’ Salman Ahmad (1995-1998), HE Dato’ Abdullah Sani Omar (1998-2000), HE Dato’ Mahalil Hj Baharam (2000-2003), Mr. Mokhtar Mohamed (2003-2005), Mr. Mohamad Hussain Abu Bakar (2005-2007), HE Amb. Nik Mustafa Kamal Nik Ahmad (2007-2009), Mr. Mohammad Azhar Mazlan (2009-2012), Mr. Abdullah Zawawi Tahir (2012-2016) and Mr. Nur Misuari Harun (2019 - 17 October 2022) . Currently, Mr. Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh, is the Consul General of Malaysia.
The Consulate General of Malaysia in Davao City had moved to a new location on 1 December 2020. The new address is:
