MALAYSIAN TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROGRAMME (MTCP) ALUMNI DINNER, COTABATO CITY, MINDANAO

The dinner was held at the Convention Center, Al Nor Hotel, Cotabato City on 5 August 2015. Around 120 Bangsamoro MTCP Alumni attended the dinner, headed by its President, Dr. Tato M. Usman. Also present were Dr. Mohammad Yacob, Executive Director of the Bangsamoro Development Agency, Dr. Taugan Kikay, Executive Director of the Sajahtara Bangsamoro and Mayor Abdukarim Langkuno of Maguindanao.

 

During the welcoming speech by Dr. Tato, he expressed gratitude to Malaysian Government for the opportunities given to Bangsamoro people to take part in the courses offered under the sphere of MTCP. He was also thankful as it was the first time that MTCP Alumni Dinner held in Mindanao to allow the alumni members in Mindanao to gather and share experiences and knowledge. He also thanked Malaysia for the support and assistance in the Mindanao peace process.

 

During the keynote address, H.E. Dato’ Ambassador gave assurance that Malaysian Government would continue to provide assistance and offer training courses under the MTCP to the Philippines including Mindanao for capacity building. He also highlighted the warm bilateral relations between Malaysia and the Philippines in many areas including trade and investment, tourism and also cooperation through regional and international fora such as ASEAN, UN and APEC. H. E. Ambassador also presented a mock cheque for the amount of Php90,000 (USD1,925) to Solon High School.
