The Embassy of Malaysia, Manila participated for a second time in an exhibition organised by the Asian Studies Society, University of Santo Tomas on January 30, 2015.

The theme for this year was “Building Bridges Towards Glory” which signifies the optimistic endeavour of community building towards a more united ASEAN region. The core objective of the exhibition was to expose UST students with 2015 ASEAN integration. The one day event saw a parade of cultures and exhibition booths by ASEAN Embassies as a day long program to celebrate and promote ASEAN Community to the UST undergraduates.

The Embassy took this opportunity to promote Malaysia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN 2015 and its priorities. Towards this end, the Embassy distributed brochures on Malaysia’s Chairmanship of ASEAN, bookmarks, visit Malaysia badges, and other promotional and souvenir items. Approximately, 1200 students visited the Malaysian Embassy booth.

This exhibition is a successful event and met the key objectives as the Embassy had the opportunity to educate students from the UST on Malaysia as a tourism destination as well as Malaysia’s priorities during its ASEAN 2015 Chairmanship. Participation of the Embassy is also in line with the focus of ASEAN member states to create better awareness on ASEAN among the people.
