11th World Urban Forum (WUF11), 26-30 June 2022

H.E. Ambassador Dato’ Chitra Devi Ramiah and Ms. Nur Atikah Anwar attended the 11th UN-WUF in Katowice from 24th till 1 July 2022. The Malaysian delegation was led by YB Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Minister of Housing and Local Government who was accompanied by a delegation of over 200 participants from more than 50 government agencies and organisations representing federal, state, and local governments. In addition, representatives from universities, private sector, civil society organisations and media partners from Malaysia were also present during this forum.

H.E Ambassador Dato’ Chitra attended the official opening of WUF11 with YB Minister, launching of the Malaysian Pavilion and the soft launch of iDAM (The Malaysia Liveability Index) on 27 June 2022. On 28 June 2022, YB Minister delivered a speech on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Action session: Liveability as a Vehicle towards Achieving Urban Sustainability. 

The WUF is the most inclusive international gathering over urban issues that brings together representatives of national, provincial and local governments, academia, business people, community leaders, town planners and civil societies. Malaysia also had a pavilion which was the second largest after Poland for promoting our interest.
