SEMINAR ON FOOD APPLICATION AND NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS OF PALM OIL

 

A seminar on food application and nutritional benefits of palm oil was conducted by Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Brussels in cooperation with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Warsaw. The seminar was held on 13 March 2014 at MATRADE’s office.

 

 

 

 

The purpose of the seminar was to provide knowledge and awareness on palm oil application, its nutritional benefits, and to promote its usage in the food industry in Poland.

 

 

The seminar started with a welcoming remarks by H.E. Dato’ Jamaluddin Sabeh, the Ambassador followed with a presentation by Dr. Kalanithi Nesaretnam, Regional Manager (Europe), MPOB, Brussels. The seminar was attended by 13 representatives from Polish food industries and organisations including the Polish Association of Oil Producers and a scientist from Bunge company.

 

In addition, a cooking demonstration using the palm oil was presented by Mr. Dariusz Richter, chef from Kuchnie Swiata . At the end of the seminar, some of the Malaysian delicacies namely nasi lemak, rendang daging, laksa and pulut mangga were served to the participants.
