A delegation from Malaysia participated at the 4th edition of the European Exhibition of Creativity and Innovation (EUROINVENT) which took place at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi from 10th until 12th May 2012.
In the open category, the delegation from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) clinched four gold medals for their inventions of Novel Multipurpose Geopolymer Coating for High Temperature; Novel Multipurpose Effective Microorganism (EM) SMaRT Ball; UniMAP WF Brake Pad and green Natural Organic Surface Finish (G-NOSF)
Meanwhile, in the school categories, the Malaysian delegation comprising teams from Technical Teluk Intan Secondary School (SEMAIAN), Tun Abdul Razak Integrated School, Science Selangor Secondary School won two gold medals and four silvers. Among their inventions were: Mobile Sunpack; a Continuous Aerobic Composter; Mini Coal; Aqueract; from Waste to Wealth: ‘ParBo’ from Biomass of Palm Oil and Sustainable ‘CB’ from Rice Straw Waste. More than 270 inventions were presented from more than 15 countries including United Kingdom, Spain, Croatia, Poland, Republic of Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Portugal, France, Ukraine, Russian Federation and Republic of Moldova. Euroinvest is an exhibition that promotes the creating and developing new research ideas, technology transfer and implementation of inventions within the European network with partnership and participation from inventors from all over the world.
