The Embassy of Malaysia and in cooperation with the Tourism Malaysia Office in Frankfurt had participated in the Romania Tourism Fair in Bucharest, from 21 – 24 October, 2010. More than 140 participants representing hoteliers and travel agencies as well as 15 countries took part in the annual event. Despite less number of participating agencies compared to the previous year due to the economic slow down in the country, it had managed to bring almost 20,000 visitors to the Fair. The participation of the Embassy was a success as it was able to create greater awareness about Malaysia as an attractive tourist destination. Apart from providing information on Malaysia to the visitors through dissemination of information materials and audio visual presentation, the Embassy also took the opportunity to expand its networking with local tour agents for future cooperation.
