COURTESY CALL ON HIS EXCELLENCY RADKO VLAYKOV, AMBASSADOR OF BULGARIA TO ROMANIA On 1 September 2026, Mrs. Nor Hafidza Ja’afar, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Bucharest, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Radko Vlaykov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Romania. The meeting formed part of the Embassy’s ongoing engagement with diplomatic representatives of countries under its accreditation. As Bulgaria is one of the countries under the concurrent accreditation of the Embassy of Malaysia in Bucharest, the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and explore avenues for closer cooperation. 2026 ANNUAL MEETING OF ROMANIAN DIPLOMACY On 31 August 2026, Mrs. Nor Hafidza Ja’afar, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Bucharest, attended the Official Opening of the 2026 Annual Meeting of Romanian Diplomacy (RADR 2026) at the Bucharest National Opera House. The opening featured remarks by H.E. Oana-Silvia Țoiu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, and H.E. Mircea Abrudean, President of the Senate of Romania. Organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania under the theme “Diplomacy: An Anchor in a Changing World”, RADR 2026 brought together heads of Romania’s diplomatic missions and consular offices, senior officials, representatives of Parliament, as well as members of the diplomatic community accredited to Romania. The annual gathering provides an important platform to reflect on Romania’s foreign policy priorities and key regional and global developments. The programme on the first day included discussions on a range of regional and global issues, including the situation in the Middle East and post-conflict perspectives, Romania’s role in the European Union, economic diplomacy, regional connectivity and cooperation, as well as security. The day concluded with a reception hosted by H.E. Oana-Silvia Țoiu in conjunction with RADR 2026 and Romanian Diplomacy Day, providing a warm and convivial setting for exchanges with friends and colleagues from Romania and the wider diplomatic community. The Embassy views RADR 2026 as an important and informative platform for gaining valuable insights into Romania’s foreign policy priorities and perspectives on current regional and global developments. The gathering also provided a meaningful opportunity to deepen engagement with Romanian counterparts and the wider diplomatic community, while contributing to the continued strengthening of Malaysia–Romania relations.
COMMEMORATING TÜRKIYE’S VICTORY DAY IN BUCHAREST On 28 August 2026, Mrs. Nor Hafidza Ja’afar, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Malaysia in Bucharest, attended a reception hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bucharest in conjunction with the Türkiye’S Victory Day. Adding a special touch to the occasion was the presence of the Turkish Stars, the Turkish Air Force’s renowned aerobatic demonstration team, who joined guests at the reception. The Embassy of Malaysia extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of the Republic of Türkiye on this significant occasion, and wishes continued peace, progress and prosperity.
