`HAJJ JOURNEY THROUGH THE AGES’ EXHIBITION IN JEDDAH

JEDDAH: Consul General Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak and spouse were invited as special guests of Mr. Khaled Almaena, Chief Editor of Saudi Gazette to visit a special `Hajj Journey through the Ages’ Exhibition, which was held at the Grand Exhibition Hall, Jeddah Municipality on 26 November 2013. All Heads of Department based in Jeddah and consulate staffs accompanied the Consul General for the once a life time exhibition that explores the history of the Hajj, a pilgrimage to the Holy City of Makkah, which is one of the five pillars of Islam and including a visit to the Holy City of Madinah.

 

A series of forty-three original oil paintings by Saudi distinguished female artist, Reem Nazir were showcased that takes us back in memory to bygone times, recorded and describe through the eyes of historians and in the journals of travelers, who made the journey to Hajj in those days, allowing the artist's imagination to depict images of instances in the past in the exact locations that hosted the pilgrims

 

A fifty-six page catalogue featuring all paintings was also available during the exhibition. Consul General lauded the artist and her hubby, Tarik A. Alireza creative artworks and documentary that will be an important reference to the Muslim Ummah and the World in the future.
