JEDDAH — The Consulate General of Malaysia, Jeddah in close collaboration with the Consulate Sports and Welfare Club organized a Futsal Tournament on 13 December 2014 which was open for all fellow Malaysians working and residing in the Western Region. Six teams participated at the inaugural tournament which was held at the Consulate ground. The tournament followed the standard FIFA Futsal Rules and Regulations with each side having 5 players and 3 reserves and duration of each half from 5 to 10 minutes. The games started with preliminaries, continued with semis and finals from 9am until 5 pm. 


The Consulate Officers  `A’ team, captained by Consul General Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, following a grueling eight-hour competition of superb dribbling, scoring and defending skills emerged as the Champion. Team Tabung Haji `B’ and `A’ took the second and third spots respectively.



The games provided an ample opportunity to all players to enjoy the recreational activity in a spirit of sportsmanship and portray the close esprit de corps and camaraderie among the participating teams. All enjoyed a Malaysian lunch before the event concluded with the awards ceremony presided by the Consul General.
